Contact us 331-240-5196Once a company is approved for membership by the BCRBB Certification Board and has at least one (1) individual successfully complete the Air Balancing Certification program, the organization is recognized as a BCRBB-Certified Member Organization.
An Annual Membership Certificate is issued to all approved organizations, verifying their eligibility to perform certified Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB) services in accordance with BCRBB standards. Member organizations retain certification privileges as long as they remain in good standing.
Note: Individual certifications are available only to qualified professionals associated with approved BCRBB member organizations.
All BCRBB member organizations must employ at least one certified Air Balancing Engineer (ABE). The ABE is responsible for overseeing technical operations, validating system performance, reviewing test reports, and ensuring compliance with BCRBB standards.
To qualify, applicants must have 5–8 years of experience in HVAC testing, adjusting, and balancing. Engineering qualifications may be credited toward experience requirements.
The certification exam evaluates knowledge in air distribution systems, hydronic balancing, fan laws, psychrometrics, instrumentation, and HVAC commissioning practices.
Successful candidates receive certification and an Annual Certificate. Certification is renewable annually and requires ongoing professional development.
All eligible technicians working under BCRBB-certified organizations must obtain Air Balancing Technician (ABT) certification.
Candidates must have at least 2–3 years of experience and demonstrate knowledge in airflow measurement, system balancing, and HVAC diagnostics.
Certification requires passing an examination and meeting BCRBB standards. Certified technicians receive an Annual Certificate and must maintain their certification through continuous training.
This certification is designed for professionals responsible for verifying HVAC system performance and efficiency.
Candidates must demonstrate expertise in system verification, performance testing, energy efficiency, and commissioning procedures. Certification is awarded upon successful completion of the examination.
